The Brief:

Sarah Jane had two wedding celebrations planned and therefore two dresses were needed. One was a beautifully embellished Jenny Packham dress for her big day in the south of France. The other, however, held huge sentimental value: it was her Grandmother’s dress and was to be worn at her ceremony in London, which her Grandmother would be attending. Sarah Jane’s dresses both needed Adrienne’s attention. A few alterations were needed to the Jenny Packham dress, but her Grandmother’s vintage lace dress needed quite a lot more care & attention.

The Solution:

Transformation of the vintage wedding dress:

The lace dress was in good condition overall. All it needed were some careful repairs and to clean up the hem. However, sadly, the original slip dress that went underneath the lace hadn’t stood the test of time. So, Adrienne made a new, ivory, satin dress to replace the original slip. It was lightly boned in the bodice, lightweight and had a perfectly-shaped neckline. Sarah-Jane loved it and it worked perfectly under her Grandmother’s original lace dress.

Altering the Jenny Packham dress:

Adrienne also altered Sarah-Jane’s second dress for her wedding in the south of France. The amazing Jenny Packham dress had to be sized down by two dress sizes, with additional alterations needed to the length so it fitted Sarah-Jane perfectly. Adrienne has had a lot of experience altering Jenny Packham wedding dresses over the years and she really enjoys working with them.
