A new direction after a girl’s night out
Miranda came to see 6 months before her wedding wanting a bespoke wedding dress made. She showed me images of dresses she liked, so I set about sketching ideas, gathering swatches of fabrics to show her for our design meeting, it went well but she wanted some time to think about things, which is very important!
With 6 weeks to go, Miranda got back in touch. She had been out for a drink after work with her girlfriends and they all remarked on how much they loved the evening dress she was wearing that night for their drinks. It was a simple black high street dress and they told her that was the shape that really suits her… “that’s the silhouette for your wedding”.
So that’s what we based Maranda’s wedding dress on. We designed it in a similar silhouette but added a more dramatic sleeve with a little crystal detail to give her some subtle sparkle on her big day. It had a simple, clean back with a Lilly pad train. It’s a simple dress, so elegant and really suited her.
Where would we be without our girlfriends? That was a good night out!
